QUR’AN:

Has the time not come for those who have believed that their hearts should become humbly submissive at the remembrance of Allah and what has come down of the truth? And let them not be like those who were given the Scripture before, and a long period passed over them, so their hearts hardened; and many of them are defiantly disobedient. [57:16]

HADITH:

Narrated Haritha bin Wahb: I heard the Prophet saying, “Shall I tell you of the people of Paradise? They comprise every poor humble person, and if he swears by Allah to do something, Allah will fulfill it; while the people of the fire comprise every violent, cruel arrogant person.”

FEEDBACK:

As we approach the 10th anniversary of that tragic day Sept. 11, 2001, I just want all members of the Islamic community to know that my thoughts are prayers are with them.  I am a Christian, but I do know enough about the history and beliefs of Islam to know that it is indeed a religion of peace and justice.  The 19 young men who carried out the terrible violence on 9/11 believed that they were fighting for Islam–in reality, they betrayed the true principles of that great religion. Prof. Ernest Evans Ph.D. Leavenworth, KS.
